2013 Recap

"I hope 2013 would be yet another great year for me and everyone out there! I wish to travel and spend more quality time with my loved ones despite having a busy work schedule. *fingers crossed* I can manage all these well, in 2013."

Those were the exact words I typed in my New Year post back in 2013

I'm really glad that those 2 wishes really did come true and it definitely was a great year. I travelled (a whole lot!) and definitely spent a lot of quality time with my loved ones (including closest friends!).

As usual here's a recap of my popular posts in 2013:

  1. What I Wore: Working the Essentials
  2. What I Wore: Adila Long Launch
  3. What I Wore: Rizalman Haute Couture 2013
  4. Fashion: Fashion Valet for Downy Mystique
  5. Travel {Photos}: Road Trip to Ipoh

The highlight of 2013 was definitely getting proposed to by J in Paris (Yes, I'm engaged! If you follow me on Instagram you would have known this by now)  with the view of the Eiffel Tower. I cannot think of any other perfect way to be proposed to.

Other than that I also had the opportunity to travel to

LondonParisJakartaBangkokRomeVenice, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Monte Carlo and Hua Hin in 2013 both for pleasure and work. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought of going to some of these places.

Not only that, I also got promoted to Head Buyer position at FashionValet.com in 2013 and gained so much work experience within that year. It is also the year I've decided to heavy heartedly quit my dream job as a Head Buyer because I am relocating back to Melbourne this year. There were definitely lots of challenges throughout the year but I'm glad I managed to pull through. In terms of photography as well, I think I've definitely progressed in this department as I've recently gotten approach to do photo shoots for events and I cannot express how happy I am :) I'm truly humbled by your comments on my photography as I have so much more to learn.

Here's to hoping that 2014 will be an even better year! I wish to be able to grow more career wise and also be able to plan an amazing wedding with J.

What do you plan to achieve this year?

Mom's 50th Birthday Cake

My mom doesn't usually eat cake and most of the time she wouldn't even bother with a birthday cake. This year for her 50th I've decided to make her birthday a lil bit special by getting her a designer cake. I've booked the talented cake boss from Gataeuxlicious  aka

Asma'

a long time ago for this special day. The only thing that wasn't finalised was the design of her cake.

A week before I decided to sketch it for Asma' but my sketches are horrible so I got my brother to do a few sketches and he came up with the below sketch using just paint! I was quite impressed cause I can't even draw a stick man properly, what more a cake. My mom has always wanted this Chanel bag but obviously I can't afford it just yet, so I decided to make her a miniature sugar version of it for her. Hehe, it looks so much like the real thing and check out the detailing and real chain on the bag.  I love Asma's attention to detail when it comes to her cake. It's always perfect!

The cake was supposed to be purple but because of the silver glitter, we thought the peach/pink would suit it better and it certainly did! Hope you like this cake as much as we do :)

What do you think of the cake?

Weekend Favourites

Above are some of my weekend favourites, my

Antyk Butyk

necklace and a few books that I'm currently reading. Oh and not forgetting the green tea as well. :)

Have you read Delivering Happiness by

Zappos

' founder, Tony Hsieh? If you haven't, you ought to read it. His story is very inspiring and funny at the same time. It's not one of those boring biography/business-y book, I assure you. Thank you to my boss for recommending it. I gave mine to J and went out to get a brand new on straight away. It really is that good!

What are your weekend favourites?

Birthday '13

Every year for my birthday I will buy my favourite slice of cake and have it all to myself! Nope, no sharing here :) This year it's Alexis' berry pavlova cake. I only discovered this cake last year and boy, did I not regret it! Look at the picture below and tell me you don't want a bite! I dare you :)

Yummm!

A year older, a year wiser (I hope!).

So much has happened since my last birthday. Personally, I think I've grown into a much stronger person compared to previous years and I've also gain so much different experiences with the things I do and the people I've met.

I really wonder what's in store for me this year.

Hopefully it will be filled with joy and laughter, like the previous year. :)

I just realised I completely skipped my birthday in 2012 on my blog! Yikes! How did that happened?? Now I don't really remember what I did last year. Never mind, at least I've documented some of this year's birthday moments.

Will share them here in the next few posts. :)

Photography : 6th Floor Picnic

The perfect place for an impromptu picnic and a fun day out with one of my closest friends.

Enough said.

:)

I usually reserve all the pictures for the person I'm taking pictures of, but these are too pretty not to share it here.

{Melbourne}: A Day Out At The Park

The pictures above pretty much summed up our day out at the park nearby our house. Don't let our outfits fool you, it was surprisingly cold that one summer day! The temperature dropped tremendously within 2 hours! That's Melbourne for you.

We just had to pick the windiest and chilliest day to have our picnic. Despite the cold weather, we still had lots of fun running around and blowing bubbles with our AUD 1 bubble blower.

It felt so good to just chill and relax for a bit.

I miss those carefree days.
